The Educational-Scientific Institute for Special Physical and Combat Training and Rehabilitation was created in accordance with the Order of 5/24-2015, No. 580 “On Enactment  of Staff Schedule of the University for 2015” on the basis of the Department of Physical Education and Sports and the Training Sports and Recreation Center with the aim of training highly skilled specialists for law enforcement agencies, ensuring national security and defense of Ukraine.

Igor Y. Malinsky, Ph.D., is the head of the  ESI of special physical and combat training and rehabilitation. He is a candidate of sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Professor, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine, Honored Coach of Ukraine.

Deputy Directors are:

– for teaching and methodical work – a candidate of pedagogical sciences, honored coach of Ukraine, master of sports of Ukraine of international class Ye.A. Yeremenko

– for educational work – a senior lecturer V.S. Gulay

Among the teaching staff of the Institute there are 2 doctors of sciences, 5 professors, 5 associate professors, 9 candidates of sciences and 7 senior lecturers. The Institute includes the Department of  Physical Education, Sport and Human Health, the Department of Horting and Rehabilitation, the Center for Student Sports, which includes the Department for the Training of Drivers of Vehicles, as well as the educational and research activities of the Laboratory of Physical Rehabilitation and Ergotherapy.

The Institute carries out training of professionals in the speciality 017 “Physical Culture and Sport” – training of integrated professionals-bachelors in physical education and sports, physical preparation of different groups of the population that meet the actual needs of modern society and the labor market. A wide range of universal and specialized knowledge allows graduates to successfully find work in the field of sports, recreation and entertainment, in the field of education and upbringing. They will find themselves in such activities as:

• activities of professional athletes and judges, timekeepers, instructors, trainers, sports teachers and other experts involved in the preparation of athletes and sportsmen;
• participation in sports and recreation events;
• activities of training centers and bases, sports camps for the preparation of athletes for competitions in various sports;
• activities of children’s sports schools, schools of higher sporting skills, schools of Olympic reserve;
• activity of pre-school and school educational institutions;
• provision of services related to sports, etc.

Today the base of the sports complex of the University of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine consists of sports halls covering an area of almost 1,200 square meters and a modern athletics stadium with a football field. Thanks to the professional training and hard work of the trainers-teachers, athletes of the educational institution win all-Ukrainian, international and Olympic competitions. The future prospect of the University’s sports facilities development is to accomplish the reconstruction of sports facilities, which is a building of more than 20 thousand square meters, where sports halls occupy about 12 thousand square meters, a swimming- pool of 8 600 square meters, which will facilitate the expansion of the educational and training process.

The material and technical base available at the University has allowed to form a powerful sports school for training of sportsmen of international level at the Department of  Physical Education and Sports and the sports and health center, among which: the winner of the Olympic Games 2014 in Sochi, the silver medalist of the Olympic Games 2012 in London, champions of the world and Europe, champions of Ukraine, winners and prize-winners of international competitions on free fight, fighting sambo, judo, boxing, horting, taekwon-to ITF, football, futsal, power-lifting, military sport multi-sport, weight sport, arm-wrestling, table tennis, rugby, karate-kioushinay, basketball, volleyball, sports tourism, chess and drafts, etc., who, after graduation,  join the ranks of the tax police, staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and other power structures.

The agreements on cooperation with the Ukrainian Horting Federation, the Federation of Combat Sambo of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Sports Federation, the Federation of Rugby of Ukraine, the Federation of Judo of Ukraine, the Federation of Taekwon-to ITF of Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian Federation of Military Sports All-Stars, the Boxing Federation of Ukraine, the Football Federation of Ukraine, the Futsal Association Ukraine, Federation of Weighing Sports of Ukraine, Ukrainian Federation of Arms, Federation of Table Tennis of Ukraine, Federation of  Kioushinay-Karate of Ukraine, Basketball Federation of Ukraine, Volleyball Federation of Ukraine.
